Let’s be honest: Geneva is a dull city. For those of you who don’t live here, you might think that’s a bit harsh on my part; but those of you who live here know exactly what I’m talking about. I just got back from a trip to Bangkok, a mega city by comparison, so this is all the more true for me.
In a small village with big city aspirations such as Geneva, subtle changes here and there make a huge difference. I was so pleasantly surprised to find the otherwise lackluster Balexert Mall magically lit up about a week ago. There’s something about Christmas lights that I can’t quite put my finger on but they add so much to a room, Christmas decorations in general. There had a giant polar bear slide set up, a carrousel, and lots of other neat, curated spaces for entire families to enjoy.
Geneva needs a little more magic like this – and not just during the holiday season.
