Whenever I have an overwhelming urge to get my sturdy latin food fix, I head to Peniche in the heart of Pâquis, just down Rue de Monthoux. Peniche is Portuguese-owned but Brazilian-run and the daily specials are no less of a mix of both cuisines. The last time F and I went there for lunch we had a vegetable soup and stewed pork and chicken with rice and potatoes (carbs on carbs, the Portuguese way); however, Peniche first won me over with its delicious feijoada, with farofa and salsa on the side for good measure.
