In my brief days in Geneva, I met an old friend at a new bar (or at least, one I had never been to before): Livresse. Livresse is located on a quiet cross street between Av. Henri-Dunant, opposite the big plaza in the center of Plainpalais, and Rue de Carouge, where various trams pass (12, 18, etc.).

It is an all-in-one: café, bookstore, bar. It rocks its cozy, alternative feel and is allegedly one of the few remaining safe havens in Geneva for the LGBT community (Bar Le Phare was apparently shut down?).

To learn more about the story behind Livresse and see where I got the gorgeous photos for this blog post, see Signé Genève’s post about it.

I wouldn’t mind going back for another glass of wine and a taste of the sirop de sureau (elderflower berry drink!).
